TOTVS Launches Million-Dollar Contest for LatAm’s B2B Startups

TOTVS is a central protagonist of the Latin American tech ecosystem. Named one of the top 50 technology companies in Latin America in 2012, the Brazilian software giant is an ambassador to Silicon Valley and a case study of success. Beyond its own accomplishments, TOTVS has also made it a priority to give back to the community through investments via TOTVS Ventures.

Now, the company has launched another initiative in the form of a startup competition: TOTVS START it up.

TOTVS START it up is an initiative to identify Latin America’s most promising tech startups. Geared towards IT companies with a B2B focus, the contest is open to startups from Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia. There are no restrictions or requirements in terms of revenues; however, applicants must at least have a functional prototype.

The competition will take place over a period of five months and be divided into four stages. Inscriptions will be open until June 6th, followed by a mentoring phase for selected projects (a maximum of 20) from June 17th through July 5th. Startups will have a chance to refine their business models up until August 16th, when the finalists will be chosen to compete in the last leg of the contest. The final pitch competition will take place soon after.

The winning startup will be awarded up to US$1 million (R$2million) from TOTVS as well as a trip to Silicon Valley to get to know TOTVS|Labs.

Applications for TOTVS START it up are now being accepted. Submit a project and find out more about the competition here.
