Mobile B2B: Papaya Ventures Starts Search for Second Class of Startups

With its first acceleration program still in progress, Papaya Ventures has opened its second call for startups. This time around, the organization has chosen a new theme: Mobile B2B.

For its second edition of acceleration, Papaya will seek out startups developing applications for mobile devices geared towards corporate clients (micro, small and medium-sized enterprises). Papaya has chosen this theme in recognition of a growing need for flexible, mobility-enabling solutions among businesses.

Between five and eight startups will be selected to participate in Papaya’s six-month program, supported with infrastructure, funding, mentoring and more.

Based in Rio de Janeiro, Papaya has come out of the gate strong since its 2012 launch. Not only is it about to turn out for promising mobile applications to the market, but it was also selected as one of nine accelerators to join the Start-Up Brasil program.

This last detail will have a notable influence on Papaya’s second acceleration edition, as funds from both the accelerator itself and Start-Up Brasil will be present. In fact, Start-Up Brasil will invest up to US$100,000 (R$200,000) in each of the startups selected on top of the US$10,000 (R$20,000) from Papaya.
