The community is growing. Following a 23-day call for Latin American entrepreneurs to submit their startups for the PS10 (PulsoStartup10), the final count is in: 153 startups applied.
This is a 23% increase from last year’s contest – a sign that the PS10 is a true success in the entrepreneurial community and affirmation that PulsoSocial is a leading media outlet in the regional ecosystem.
Startups from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela applied, 65% of which were founded in 2012, 17.4% in 2011 and 10% in 2010.
Thus far, we have been highly impressed with the quality of the PS10 applications reviewed. We’ve received submissions from truly innovative companies that are internationally recognized and led by highly talented entrepreneurs. Latin America is clearly in the midst of an important moment in constructing an ecosystem of creative ideas and sound business mechanisms.
Given the high number of startups to be analyzed, the pre-selection process has been extended. Next Wednesday, February 20th, the top 20 will be announced.
