Next week, Porto Digital will hold its first International Mobility Seminar, MobIT. The two-day event will address the issues surrounding urban mobility and focus on innovation and technologies with the potential to have a positive impact on cities small and large.
Seminar organizers have called upon thought-leaders and professionals from around the world to speak at the event, including French architect Uli Seher, Brazilian professor Claúdio Marte, and Canadian urban planner and designer John G. Jung.
Speakers and attendees will explore the many themes related to urban mobility and urban interventions, from the adoption of new transportation technologies to the behavioral and cultural changes brought on by more modern cities. A special focus will be placed on public transport and analyses of the issue from varying perspectives – academia, government, business, citizens, etc.
Porto Digital a Leader in Urban Mobility
So far this year, Porto Digital is proving itself a major proponent of urban mobility innovation in Brazil and Latin America as a whole. In fact, it launched a new bike rental initiative, Porto Leve, just two weeks ago. With similar initiatives in the works and events such as MobIT lined up, the organization has become a leader in seeking out quality-of-life-improving solutions in modern urban areas.
