SuperConf Miami: A Space for Design, Development and Entrepreneurship

In the wake of the resounding success of last month’s Americas Venture Capital Conference and Innovate MIA, the Miami tech community already has its next event in the works: SuperConf.

SuperConf is a study of the intersection of design, development and entrepreneurship. The two-day event, which will take place on the 21st and 22nd of February, will feature varied content, including workshops, networking opportunities, presentations and pitches. It is sponsored by the Knight Foundation, one of the Miami tech ecosystem’s biggest advocates, along with .CO, MetaLab, Tropo and New Frontiers Nomads.

Line-Up: Startups, Seminars and Speeches

The first day of SuperConf will be highlighted by two main portions: Startup Blastoff and Super Workshops. During Startup Blastoff, eight companies will be given the opportunity to pitch their projects and compete for a prize package worth US$25,000 (applications to participate are being accepted now). Not looking to pitch a startup? Then you’ll definitely want to check out the Super Workshops, a series of two-hour seminars led by industry experts. SuperConf organizers have organized two separate workshop tracks – one on product design and development, and another on startup growth and analysis.

On day two of SuperConf, attendees will be invited to sit in on speeches from nine different leaders in innovation, technology and entrepreneurship. John Higgins of Tropo and Juan Diego Calle of .CO are among those slated to present.

For Latin America, Miami a Spot to Watch

Miami stands to become an important tech hub in the years to come, its ecosystem constantly growing and evolving. For Latin Americans, this represents a huge opportunity, considering the geographic, social and cultural ties the region has to the U.S. city.
