This weekend, the ESPM Startup Challenge will be held, inviting 120 participants to compete. Work teams will have 40 hours to develop their ideas and give 60-second pitches to representatives from organizations like Buscapé and Atomico at the end of the weekend.
Entrepreneurs with ideas for digital businesses, e-commerce companies, mobile apps and online platforms will spend the weekend refining their projects. The teams will be provided mentoring from some of the most important figures in Brazil’s technology ecosystem, including Ana Fontes of My Job Space, Diego Remus of Startupi and Pedro Waegertner of Grupo Conectt. On Sunday, they will give minute-long presentations of their projects to a panel of investors and entrepreneurs, after which the winners will be named.
Though competition will be an important element of the weekend, it won’t be the only thing going on. The ESPM Startup Challenge also plans to bring in speakers to discuss their experiences in and impressions of technology and startups in Brazil. Cassio Spina, Founder of Anjos do Brasil, is slated to present, as are In Hsieh of Baby.com.br and Daniel Wjuniski of Minha Vida. Gil Giardelli, Mundo.com specialist who has founded five digital companies, will serve as the event’s moderator.
The ESPM Startup Challenge will no doubt be an exciting opportunity for the entrepreneurs lined up to attend. The event will commence tomorrow, Friday, at 6:00 p.m. at the ESPM Francisco Gracioso Campus in São Paulo.
