#IIComp São Paulo: A Contest for Innovators Who Dare to Think Differently

The Insight Innovation Exchange LatAm (IIeX SP) will hit the streets of São Paulo next month, and with it, the Insight Innovation Competition.

The Insight Innovation Competition is an initiative to honor and advocate innovation in market research and consumer insights. It seeks to support entrepreneurs by giving them a real opportunity to bring their ideas to life and connecting them with sources of funding and mentoring to help them succeed.

The contest seeks out innovative companies and entrepreneurs from virtually any space – even if the relation to market research isn’t clear. “Innovation of the insight generation space is not an option anymore; it is an imperative. But innovation doesn’t merely come from looking or acting differently; it comes by thinking differently. That means we have to identify individuals or small firms that are approaching the issues the marketing research and consumer insights industry needs to solve in ways that many may not be thinking of. We need to identify innovators who have the solution to our problems, regardless of their background or perceived industry fit, explained Leonard Murphy, Insight Innovation Chairman and Producer.

The Details

Submissions and voting for the Insight Innovation Competition will take place through next Friday, February 15th. The organization is using an ideation ratings platform powered by eCGlobal Solutions for ideas to be submitted, after which they will go through a crowdsourcing process. In the end, five finalists will be selected by popular vote.

The top five will compete at the Insight Innovation Exchange LatAm in March. There, they will have 10 minutes to present their ideas to the audience and a panel of judges, which is set to include Suzana Pamplona Miranda of Johnson & Johnson, Imran Anwar of Microsoft and PulsoSocial’s own Andres Barreto. Projects will be evaluated based on originality of concept, presentation quality, market potential, scalability and ease of implementation.

At the end of the competition, the winner will be announced and receive a cash prize of over US$20,000, an invitation to present at the Insight Innovation Exchange in Philadelphia and more.
