The Fnbox Latin America Startup Challenge has come to a close, and the results are in.
The contest took place during TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco this week, during which judges evaluated the Latin American startups present. The audience was also given a chance to vote for favorites. And now, the winners have been announced.
Judge’s Award Winner: GetNinjas
Based in Brazil, GetNinjas is an online marketplace for offline services. The company has received funding from Monashees Capital and Kaszek Ventures, and its founder, Eduardo L’Hotellier, is a rising star in the Brazilian startup ecosystem.
Popular Vote Winner (TechCrunch Pavilion): Pick1
Founded by Paolo Privitera and Armando Biondi, Pick1 is a platform that allows users and businesses to create and manage polls, surveys and questionnaires while leveraging social media and rewards benefits.
Popular Winner (TechCrunch Attendee): Opicos
An outgrowth of Psicofxp, Opicos is a platform for sharing questions, answers, thoughts and opinions with friends, followers and fellow users. Currently in private beta, Opicos was founded by Mauro Alaya and Ismael Briasco.
Social Prize Winner: Fanwards
Out of Argentina, Fanwards is a platform that connects fans and loyal customers with discounts and benefits from their favorite brands. Headed by CEO Tomas Caraccia, Fanwards won this year’s Mission Buenos Aires – Silicon Valley.
