Brazilian E-Commerce Sales to Reach US$23.4 Billion in 2012

It looks like 2012 is going to be another banner year for e-commerce in Brazil, as online sales in the country this year are expected to reach US$11.5 billion (R$23.4 billion). Having brought in US$9.2 billion (R$18.7 billion) in 2011, this represents a 25% growth rate.

While e-commerce in Brazil still remains short of reaching its full potential, the sector has grown in leaps and bounds as of late. Ten years ago in 2002, annual sales reached just US$418 million (R$815 million).
